Five strong teams competed in Yeltsin Cup Tournament 2012 held in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Yes, Virginia! They were Russia, Poland, Brazil, Cuba and Italy. Three from the European continent and two from American soil.

The four-day tourney, July 4-8, was a showcase of volleyball matches when these powerhouses competed against each other. Here are the final results:

July 4:

Brazil 3-1 Italy (15:25, 28:26, 25:21, 25:21)
Russia 3-0 Poland (25:16, 25:18, 25:16)

July 5:

Russia 3-0 Brazil (25:22, 25:17, 25:22)

July 8:
Poland – Cuba 1:3 (19:25, 14:25, 25:20, 21:25)
Russia – Italy 3-0 (25:23, 25:18, 25:22)
