In Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics (informally London Olympics), twelve qualified nations were drawn into two groups, each consisting of six teams. After a robin-round, the four highest-placed teams in each group will advance to a knock-out round to decide the medals.
In Pool A, Russia and Italy have already secured posts in the quarterfinals. Two teams are still fighting to fill in the two remaining spots. Japan, Great Britain, Algeria and Dominican Republic are vying for these. Japan is currently in the third rank. It’s a significant match for the Dominicans and the British tomorrow because the winner would fall in the 4th rank. Who’s gonna win? 😀
In Pool B, team USA has received its ticket for the quarterfinals after a zero defeat of all the 3 matches. South Korea and China are next in line for the top 4 of this pool. Brazil is currently number 5 behind Turkey which is ranked 4th. This seems to be a crucial moment for the Brazilians because they could not defend their title as Beijing Olympic Champ. If they would be defeated by China, they’ll fall to rank 5. If Turkey would win against Korea, the team will maintain its post in number 4. Who would take it ? 😀 Let’s not forget to watch these ladies tomorrow!
