Season 74 Champion, DLSU LADY SPIKERS, got their first semifinal ticket after their 10th match against the ADU LADY FALCONS yesterday. The squad subdued the Falcons in 3 straight sets, 25-19,25-20,25-8.
Ara Galang, the Lady Spikers’ scoring machine led the team with 16 points. Likewise, team captain Abigail Marano and Mika Reyes showcased their massive blocks above the net and contributed 14 and 11 marks, respectively.
Sheila Marie Pineda and Paulina Soriano, as well as Mayette Zapanta from the Adamson Lady Falcons didn’t have much power to outduel the Lady Spikers. The Adamson squad is tied with FEU Lady Tamaraws and UST Lady Tigresses with a 6-4 standing behind the Ateneo Lady Eagles, 7-3.
It was really a big win of the DLSU Lady Spikers against the ADU Lady Falcons. The team defeated in 3 straight sets (3-0), 25-19, 25-20,25-8.
The Lady Spikers maintained their solid blocks above the net plus great offense in the middle through Mika Reyes. Arra Galang was also in good shape with her down the line hits. Kim Fajardo showcased her witty setting skills and bonded a solid connection with Abigail Marano for running spikes and quick hits in the middle.
On the other side, Pau Soriano didn’t have enough juice with her middle attacks since the Lady Spikers were ready with their massive blocks especially from Michele Gumabao, the former Best Blocker. Shiela Pineda and Amanda Villanueva were not also in their solid form to bring more attacks against the Lady Spikers.
It is very obvious that the Falcons were trounced in the 3rd set, 25-8. The squad wasn’t able to produce a double digit of their score.
