What an exciting match between these two strong teams in the UAAP Season 75 last Sunday afternoon at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City!
I really saw the Tamaraws determination to outsmart the Tigresses. UST (University of Sto. Tomas) is really the old rival of FEU (Far Eastern University) in the volleyball arena. And the Tigresses could not really take a big lead because of their unforced errors especially in the 3rd set.
The Lady Tamaraws outsmarted the Lady Tigresses in 4 sets, 22-25,29-27, 25-18,25-23. What a lucky afternoon for FEU! 🙂
Wenneth Eulalio, middle blocker and quick attacker really stepped up in the match. She had a better connection with her setter, Gyzel Sy together with Rosemarie Vargas who really showed her specialty, down the line hits.
I was anticipating for skipper Judy Caballejo to lead the Tigresses but to no avail because the Tamaraw middle blockers didn’t let the Mikasa ball to cross over the net. Maika Ortiz didn’t really load up much of her running spikes. She got 11 markers for the Tigresses.
Coach Odjie Mamon allowed Maruja Banaticla to play hoping that they could extend the game into 5 sets. But she didn’t have enough juice to outduel the Lady Tamaraws.
FEU’s libero, Christine Agno, really swept the ball very well. She got a better reception which made Gyzel Sy set the ball well.
