The Dominicans displayed their strong might against the Slovenians in 4 sets, (3-1), 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23 in Thailand during the FIVB Girls U18 World Championship.
The Slovenians started well in their opening set but the Dominicans made their come back in the next three sets.
Slovenia tried to force a decider against Dominican Republic but did not have enough juice when the latter sealed the set 25-23.

Belgium has its debut for this year in the European League 2013. Fortunately, they marched into the big Final Four. Likewise, the Belgians outsmarted the Romanians in 3 straight sets, (3-0), 21-16, 22-20, 21-15.
In the opening set, both teams were determined to outscore the other and tied at 6-6. But the Belgians managed to widen the gap of 5 point advantage when Els Vandesteene was behind the service line. But Romania narrowed the gap, 12-11. The Belgians were alarmed and made better reception and continued to seal the set, 21-16.
The second set favored the Romanians at first and left the Belgians, 19-12. With determination, Belgium managed to make their run and turned things around, 22-20 to end the set.
The Belgians controlled the 3rd set dominantly and the Romanians gradually bowed down. Nina Coolman ended the set with an ace and sealed the match, 21-15.
It was a very lucky night for the Belgians. They have what it takes to win in the European league. Tomorrow, they’ll face Germany for the gold medal match.

It was the semifinal round in European League 2013. Germany was able to join in the final four and faced Bulgaria, the host country last Saturday.
The Germans reaped its sweet victory against the Bulgarians in 3 straight sets, (3-0), 21-17, 21-10, 21-19.
It was a see-saw of scores during the first set but service aces from Denise Hanke helped the Germans to stretch the gap. But the spiking prowess of Dobriana Rabadshieva contributed the Bulgarians to narrow it. In the second set, Germany was in control of the game with a 9-1 advantage. Bulgaria bounced back in the 3rd set with the lead 9-4 against Germany. But Margareta Kozuch’s services aces helped the Germans to tie at 17-17. Heike Beier sealed the match with a powerful attack, 21-19.
The Bulgarian heroines did not have enough power to stop the determined Germans. Bulgaria will Romania for the bronze medal match, while Germany will play against Belgium who had made it to the big final four this year. To watch the full match of this game, please click here.
