It was quite a disappointing moment for the European squad, Czech Republic, when the USA won over in straight sets. The Americans defeated them in 3 sets, (3-0), 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.

It was actually a better game for the Czechs but the Americans showed their massive blocks above the net.  They were trying to steal the 3rd set but the Americans found a wonderful way to stop it but unfortunately the long serve of Ivana Pichotova sealed the match.

For the first time, the Asian powerhouse fell into the hands of the European squad, Bulgaria during their match of the on-going FIVB World Grand Prix.

The Bulgarians won in 3 straight sets,  (3-0), 25-23, 25-23, 31-29, against the very tough Japanese. It was actually a very exciting game wherein both teams were trying to outsmart the other.

The first two sets were stolen by the Bulgarians with their strong offense and defense above the net. During the 3rd set, I thought the Japanese would steal it when they tied at 24-24 . But the Bulgarians remained strong and sealed the match at 31-29. The Japanese were trying to extend another set but to no avail as Dobriana Rabadzhieva blasted a powerful spike.


It was a very exciting match between China and Turkey during their match of the on-going 2013 FIVB World Grand Prix


The Chinese have defeated the Turkish squad in a 5-setter match, (3-2), 19-25,  25-17, 25-20, 15-25, 15-10.

The Turkish dominated in the first set with powerful attacks and good defense from the Chinese magnificent hits and sealed the match easily, 19-25.

The Chinese made their run in the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-20 respectively and upset Turkish.

Turkey needed to win the 4th set and tried to force a 5th set battle above the net. It favored to them and ended the match 15-25.

The exciting 5th set was also tight. Both teams were trying to outsmart one another. But the Chinese were so unstoppable and finished the match, 15-10.

The Chinese have claimed their 4th title in FIVB Girls U18  after their exciting match between the Americans last Sunday in Thailand.

China won in straight sets, (3-0), 25-16, 25-21, 25-23, against the USA. The Chinese have controlled the game in the opening set with superb attacks above the net. The Americans tried to bounce back in the second set but the Chinese were unstoppable and sealed the set, 25-21. The Americans were determined to extend the match and dominated in the beginning but the Chinese capitalized their play and went ahead, 25-23.

Xinyue Yuan (CHINA) was chosen “Most Valuable Player” and “Best Middle Blocker”, Jordyn Poulter (USA) was the best setter and Yunlu Wang (CHINA) together with Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC_ were the “Best Outside Hitters”. Audriana Fitzmorris  (USA) was also chosen “Best Middle Blocker”, Angela Leyva (PERU) was “Best Oppsite” and Minori Wada (JAPAN) was the “Best Libero”.

The Asian powerhouse, China, defeated the European squad, Bulgaria, in straight sets, (3-0), 25-13, 26-24, 25-23.

The Turkish squad defeated Algeria in straight sets, (3-0), 25-13, 25-18, 25-15.

The Netherlands claimed its first victory against Cuba in Macau, China for the 2013 FIVB World Grand Prix. The Duth defeated the Cubans in 3 straight sets, (3-0), 25-20, 25-14, 25-11.

It was an exciting opening set where both teams tried to outsmart one another. But the Dutch capitalized their play in the middle and left the Cubans, 25-20. The second and third set favored the Dutch with their solid blocks while the Cubans continued to make many errors in their reception and bad passes. Likewise, Netherlands showcased their attacks from the outside and sealed the match 25-14, 25-11 respectively.
