Earning the twice to beat advantage and the second best team of the season, the Lady Bulldogs of National University faced against the Ateneo Lady Eagles after the latter won over the fighting Lady Falcons of Adamson University.
In their previous matches, the Lady Bulldogs trounced the Eagles twice. And the come back from the Eagles was expected to happen to win against the Bulldogs. Did it happen?
Yes, it did. The Lady Eagles outsmarted the Lady Bulldogs in an exciting four set encounter last Wednesday, February 26th. The former won over the latter in four, (3-1), 25-16, 12-25, 31-29, 28-26.
As expected, Alyssa Valdez unloaded her powerful kills from the Ateneo squad and upset the blockers from the National U team.
The Eagles spread wide their wings to sweep the Bulldogs in the first set, 25-16. Julia Morado, Ateneo’s setter, performed well in distributing the Mikasa throughout the set.
But the Lady Bulldogs made their come back in the second set to even the match. Dindin Santiago and her sister, Jaja contributed much to win the set. They easily clawed the Eagles, 12-25.
In the third and fourth sets, both teams showed amazing play to outsmart each other. But the Eagles were determined and defeated the Bulldogs, 31-29, 28-26, respectively.
Both fanatics from each team were frenzy inside the San Juan Arena cheering that those exciting sets of the game.

While waiting for the winners between the match of FEU Lady Tamaraws and Adamson Lady Falcons, the Lady Eagles of Ateneo De Manila University prepared much for whoever would survive in the do-or-die match last February 19th.
And the winner is … Lady Falcons of Adamson University.
They defeated the Lady Tamaraw of Far Eastern University in five sets, (3-2), 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-11.
But the Falcons fell to the claws of Lady Eagles in straight sets last February 23rd, (3-0), 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.
Alyssa Valdez from the Eagles unloaded her best kills of the match with 19 points.
The triple power from the Falcons coming from bang Pineda, Mayette Zapanta and Amanda Villanueva didn’t work much to outscore the Eagles.

Season 76 of the UAAP is really giving much delight to all the volleyball fanatics out there.
It was a wonderful match between the Lady Falcons of Adamson University and the Lady Tamaraws from Far Eastern University. The former defeated the latter in 4 sets, (3-1), 25-15, 17-25, 25-17, 25-23.
The Falcons dominated the first set with superb kills above the net and upset the Tamaraws having many unforced errors.
The FEU squad rose from the dead in the second set and sealed it ahead, 17-25 against the Falcons. Great attacks from Bernadette Pons and Maritoni Basas helped them win and tied the set apiece.
But the Lady Falcons showed much determination in the third set and left the Tamaraws, 25-17.
Hoping to get an exciting 5th set, the Tamaraws with the biggest lead, 14-21. However, Shiela pIneda, Mayette Zapanta and Marleen Cortel combines their triple combo attacks and tied at 23 all. Coach Shaq called a time out to remind her girls to relax and vary the attacks. But the Falcons were unstoppable and sealed the match 25-23.
Great comebacl for the Lady Falcons after they were defeated by the Lady Eagles of Ateneo De Manila University in 5 sets, (2-3), 22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 13-15.
