His real name is Matthew John Anderson, 25 years old from New York. He is a member of the USA National Men’s Volleyball Team.
When he was in high school , he started to play in the middle position. But as time went by, he was trained to work as an outside hitter.
During the first round of the Finals of the 2013 CEV VOLLEYBALL CUP, Bank BPS Fakro MUSZYNA (Poland) outdueled the famous and strong Fenerbahce SK Istanbul (Turkey) in an epic 5-setter (3-2) 26-24, 26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 15-11.
I was actually dipped into my wild guess of the moment that Fenerbahce would win because, the Korean star player, Kim Yeon-Koung was there.
It was a very nice match, the Polish team didn’t lose hope to fight Turkey’s heavyweight volleyball club. Knowing that Lindsey Berg (USA) is a very good setter. But Anna Werblinska showcased her offensive play.

It would be the second appearance for the LADY EAGLES of Ateneo De Manila University to be in the FINALS. Lucky seasons for them -Season 74 and Season 75.
It’s because the team clobbered the LADY FALCONS of Adamson University in 3 straight sets, 25-23, 25-23, 26-24.
It was really a tough match in every set. Both teams were willing to win over one another. But the mighty and defensive Eagles soared higher than the Falcons.
Alyssa Valdez of Ateneo fired out 22 points in this match while Paulina Soriano of Adamson got 17 points.
Supposedly, the Lady Falcons would have won the 3rd set because they were ahead, 23-19 but the Lady Eagles made their run and sealed the set 26-24.

Who would not forget this pretty and gorgeous volleybelle? Yes, Virginia she’s from ITALY!
Francesca Piccinini (born January 10, 1979 in Massa) is a female volleyball player who has represented Italy four times (2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012) at the Summer Olympics. She was a member of the Women’s National Team that won the gold medal at the 2002 World Championship in Germany.
She made her debut for Italy on 1995-06-10 against the United States. She was inspired to become a professional volleyball player by the classic anime Attack No. 1 which in Italy was shown on TV in the 1980s under the title ‘Mimi e la nazionale della pallavolo’.
In 2004 she appeared naked in a calendar published by the Italian magazine Men’s Health.
Playing professionally with the Italian club Volley Bergamo, she won the Most Valuable Player” award when her team won the 2009–10 CEV Indesit Champions League title. (Source)
One of the finest and powerful moments of women’s volleyball in the 2012 London Olympics was here in this video! The full match of the exciting game between USA and TURKEY. 🙂
Destinee Hooker, as well as, Megan Hodge showcased her firepowers to outduel the Turkish squad in the preliminary round under Pool B.
OF course, Neslihan Darnel was very determined to unload her superb left spikes and hits. Right?
With great professional referees from Spain and Qatar, this match has been a wonderful game to behold.
It’s not easy to seal a match! Right? Aiming that set point, match point and championship point! Go for gold!
The video below shows a very exciting match in a third set of this collegiate volleyball, UAAP Season 73. THE FINALS!
I’ve been watching this one for so many times. Long rallies, good digs, great sets, powerful spikes and smart plays are here!
Noted players of the season are one of my favorites! Aiza Maizo from the UST Golden Tigresses, Jacqueline Alarca from the DLSU LADY Spikers (formerly Green Archers), Slephanie Mercado (daughter of former Philippine National athlete, LYDIA DE VEGA – MERCADO) from DLSU, MAruja Banaticla from UST.
The Tigresses should have won the 3rd set considering they put the Green Archers in a set point. Fortune, fortune showered from the side of De La Salle when the girls were able to make their run and tied at 24 all.
Both teams did not lose their hopes to win that very tight set. I actually guessed, it was UST who would win. But, the story has changed and with those check balls and unforced errors, the Greens won in 3 straight sets!
The LADY SPIKERS of De La Salle University were the volleyball champion of Season 74!
It was a best-of-5 series against the LADY EAGLES of Ateneo De Manila University.
In Game 1, Ateneo defeated De La Salle in 4 sets, 23-25, 28-26, 25-23 and 25-17.
It seemed the Eagles were prepared to wallop the number seed Lady Spikers. In Game 2, the LADY Spikers fought back and outdueled the Eagles in sets too, 23-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18.
And the most awaited game was Game 3, where the LADY SPIKERS really came up with a solid game against the LADY EAGLES, They outsmarted them in just 3 straight sets, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-13.
Charlene Cruz was awarded MVP of the season. She was the team captain.
It’s already semi-final in Season 75. And the team will play against the National University LADY BULLDOGS this Saturday, February 23, 2013. This is the first time that the Bulldogs were able to enter the FINAL 4.
The LADY SPIKERS have twice to beat advantage being the #1 seeded team of the season. On the other hand, LADY FALCONS will play against the #2 team with a twice to beat advantage, too, the LADY EAGLES.
Possible outcomes! If Ateneo wins over Adamson and De La Salle wins over National, this would be a repeat of the FINALS in Season 75. But these teams are tough. Adamson would find their ways to let the LADY FALCONS soar high against the LADY EAGLES. Likewise, the LADY BULLDOGS would use their fangs to fight the LADY SPIKERS!
Now, the question is: WILL THE LADY SPIKERS GET THE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE THIS SEASON? To be or not to be! Good luck ladies!
It was a fine sunny Wednesday when we headed to Robinson’s Galleria to enjoy the most of our 2-hour break after the inbound classes.
As we were heading down the elevator, my friend, Louise Jane, and I agreed not to eat heavy meal because we were still full after a fabulous lunch of Mommy Cindy’s delicious rice meal.
Ending up across Max’s Restaurant in the 4th Level, the one which will catch your attention is the colorful facade of Icebergs.
Yes, Virginia! Icebergs is also found in Robinson’s Galleria. Alright, alright! It was actually my third time to drop by this clean and cozy place just to buy their delectable Halo-halo (mixed fruits with scoops of ice cream of different flavors).
Louise chose the yummy leche flan and I still pointed the superb Halo-halo special. Guys, they’re so affordable.
Behold these refreshing Halo-halo and leche flan.
They fulfilled our mission of emptying our stomach with rice and dish for dinner.
The Lady Bulldogs of National University continued to be determined to cling in the Final 4 of the UAAP Season 75.
This is the premiere attendance of these girls in the FINAL 4. What a soaring performance from the host school! It can’t be denied that the LADY BULLDOGS are one of the underdogs in the UAAP.
Until such time, Dindin Santiago arrived and lifted her team to climb in the ranking. With the most number of wins this season, (8-6),
National University supporters grew bigger and bigger. Imagine, this team is the second best blocking team behind the DLSU LADY SPIKERS.
Despite the terrific effort from the LADY TIGRESSES to be in the Final 4, it wasn’t good enough because of their unforced errors.

With the same win – loss records, (8-6), the LADY BULLDOGS of National University and THE GOLDEN TIGRESSES of University of Sto. Tomas have their fourth-seed playoff in THE ARENA in San Juan City.
It’s because the LADY EAGLES walloped the Tigresses in 3 straight sets, 28-26, 25-15, 25-22 last Sunday to complete their 10th win in this season and forced the Tigresses to land to an 8-6 standing. And the LADY BULLDOGS clobbered the LADY TAMARAWS in 3 sets, 25-19, 25-12, 25-18.
Both teams were prepared to win, weren’t they? Dindin Santiago, Myla Pablo, Cai Nepomuceno and Aiko Urdas showcased their firepowers against Maika Ortiz, Julie Caballejo, Maruja Banaticla and Pam Lastimosa.
But the LADY BULLDOGS were so unfortunate to win the match. They defeated the Tigresses in 4 sets, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23.
And with this result – NU LADY BULLDOGS entered the fourth spot of the FINAL 4. Please refer to the latest tally of the season.
The girls will face the DLSU LADY SPIKERS, with a twice to beat advantage, on Saturday.
